If you earn in dollars, get paid by foreign clients or simply hold your savings in stablecoins, sooner or later you need naira in your account. Rent is due, school fees are due, and the trader at the market does not take USDT. This guide shows you how to cash out USDT and USDC to naira with moove.xyz: straight into your OPay, PalmPay, Moniepoint or bank account, at a rate you see before you commit.
You will learn what you need before you start, the exact steps in the app, what it costs, how long the naira takes to land, and the mistakes that delay payouts.
Why Cash Out USDT to Naira Through an App, Not a P2P Trade?
For years, the default way to sell USDT in Nigeria has been peer-to-peer: post an offer, wait for a buyer, watch your bank app for an alert, then release the coins. It works, but you carry the risk. Buyers send part payments, alerts arrive late, and a chargeback or a "wrong transfer" story can freeze your account at the worst time.
Cashing out through Moove Ramp is different in three ways:
- One counterparty, one quote. You see a live naira amount for your USDT or USDC before you confirm. There is no haggling over a rate and no waiting for a stranger to pay.
- Payout to your own account. Naira is sent to the bank account or mobile money wallet you linked in your own name. You are not receiving money from unknown third parties.
- Your crypto stays yours until you sell. Moove is a self-custody wallet, so your USDT and USDC sit in a wallet only you control until the moment you choose to convert.
You can check the current USDT to NGN rate or USDC to NGN rate on the web any time.
What You Need Before You Cash Out
Have these ready and the whole process takes a few minutes:
- The Moove app on your phone. Cashing out to naira is done in the app, which you can get for iPhone or Android.
- USDT or USDC on Solana in your Moove wallet. Moove pays out naira for these two stablecoins on the Solana network.
- A verified identity. Moove Ramp asks you to verify who you are before you can sell crypto for naira. Depending on your level, that can include your BVN or NIN and a quick face scan.
- A naira account in your own name. A bank account or a mobile money wallet that matches the legal name on your verified profile.
Which banks and wallets are supported?
Moove currently pays out to accounts at Access Bank, Ecobank, Fidelity Bank, First Bank of Nigeria, Guaranty Trust Bank (GTBank), Moniepoint, OPay, PalmPay, Stanbic IBTC Bank, Sterling Bank, United Bank for Africa (UBA), Unity Bank, Wema Bank and Zenith Bank. The full, up-to-date list is shown in the app when you add an account.
My USDT is on Tron or BNB Chain. What now?
Many exchanges send USDT on Tron (TRC-20) or BNB Chain by default. Moove does not pay out naira from those networks, so move your stablecoins to Solana first. Read which blockchain to use for stablecoins for the trade-offs, and use Moove Swap to move funds across chains. Always double-check the network before you withdraw from an exchange: sending USDT on the wrong network is the most common way people lose money.
How to Cash Out USDT or USDC to Naira, Step by Step
1. Verify your identity
Open the Moove app and start Moove Ramp. If you have not verified yet, the app walks you through it: accept the terms, confirm your email and phone number, then verify your identity. Have your BVN or NIN to hand, and find good light for the face scan. Verification usually takes a few minutes.
2. Link your OPay, PalmPay, Moniepoint or bank account
Add a fiat account, search for your bank or wallet provider, and enter your account number. Use an account in your own legal name. If the name on the account does not match your verified profile, the payout cannot go through.
3. Choose what you are selling
On the Off-ramp tab, choose USDT or USDC as what you are paying with and naira as what you want to receive. Pick the account you linked.
4. Enter an amount and check the quote
Type how much USDT or USDC you want to sell. The app shows:
- the naira amount you will receive
- the conversion rate
- the network fee for sending the crypto
- the estimated settlement time
If the amount is below the minimum or above your limit, the app tells you before you go any further.
5. Confirm and send
Review the details and confirm. The app sends the stablecoins from your wallet, and the naira is paid out to the account you chose. You can follow the status, from pending to settled, in your activity.
How Much Does It Cost to Sell USDT for Naira?
Pricing on Moove is simple:
| Cost | What it is |
|---|---|
| Moove fee | A flat 0.10% of the amount, included in your quote |
| Network fee | A small Solana fee for sending the crypto, shown before you confirm |
| Bank or wallet charge | Any charge your own bank or wallet applies on the naira side |
There are no subscription fees, and the naira amount in your quote is what Moove pays out. Compare that with a P2P trade, where the "rate" often hides the trader's margin, and you can see why the quote matters more than the headline price.
How Long Does the Naira Take to Land?
Most cash-outs settle within minutes. The exact estimate depends on the payout partner and the size of the transfer, and the app shows it on every quote. If a payout takes longer than the estimate, check your activity for its status before contacting support: your bank's own processing can add a short delay.
Mistakes That Delay a Naira Payout
- Using someone else's account. A friend's or a relative's account will not work. The payout account must be in your name.
- Sending on the wrong network. Only USDT and USDC on Solana can be cashed out to naira. Move other networks to Solana first.
- Skipping verification. You cannot sell until your identity is verified, so do it before you need the money urgently.
- Hitting your limit. Limits depend on your verification level. If you hit one, the app tells you how much is left and how to raise it.
Keep Some Dollars, Cash Out What You Need
You do not have to convert everything at once. Many people keep part of their income in USDC or USDT as a dollar savings and cash out only what they need each month. To understand the difference between the two stablecoins, read USDC vs USDT: which stablecoin should you use?, and for how ramps work under the hood, see how stablecoin on-ramps and off-ramps work.
Before you sell, check the live USDT to NGN rate, then open the app and cash out in a few taps.
